All of a sudden after 3 days of Teacher's day the love for teachers just overflows in me that I'm here to mention a few of them!
With 14+3+1+2 = 20 years of learning from various teachers, I have grown up as a wonderful human being with so many values inculcated in me.
Chandra Mam - My class teacher in 2nd & 3rd. A lean, fair and beautiful lady she is! I always have a second look for her hair do everyday. E.N.G.L.I.S.H -The term, the language, or whatever you call it in your terms for it, It was first introduced to my by her. The way she pronounces, the ways she tried to introduce new new words everyday with some activity is still lingering in my ears. Discipline, prayer, Exercise, and every first thing I learnt from her. She along with Sister Vincenta encouraged me to act in a play of 3 hours as a small little girl who lost her dad in one, and flower girl in an other! And in both the plays, I played main role. In fact, It was like the kid heroine types! The appreciations I got, The hugs & kisses that were passed on still gives me a strong feeling happiness.
Now people find me as a daring and confident person all the time. I never had stage fear. I never had experienced the shaking of legs before presenting something. All credits goes to my mam Miss.Chandra & sis.Vincenta. Thank you mam, If you had not encouraged me, I wouldn't have been such a daring girl now. The appreciations I get, The prizes I received, The full marks I score in presentations, and every single recognition I got it's all because of you both! Thank you mam.
Sophia Mam - My English teacher & class teacher, 4th Standard. Every time she steps into my class, my rate of heart beat increases. She is very strict but more beautiful, with long hair, kaajal in her eyes, fair, and the way she speaks keeps my mouth open! Her lesson of parts of speech, grammar, articles, prepositions, conjunctions, whatever the basic classes I had for English, I still remember everything. And she laid the strong foundation of English in me. Mam, I'm ever thankful to you!
With that 4 years in a convent school, my learning of English had a full stop. The rest of the years I had to recollect whatever I learnt and I developed the passion for English by reading books and writing dairies. Because, After that I stepped in to Government State Board Schools for further classes.
Chelladurai Sir - My 5th Standard teacher. He is an old man who tries to speak English with his own terms & in his own ways. "The selfish giant", by Oscar Wild , the story which was well explained by him. I tried dancing for the first time in the annual day. He was someone who encourages friendship and Trust me I'm still in touch with almost all of them. And my first best friend ( boy ) is from 5th standard and we still love each other like we did 10 years ago! Blesson, you are remembered here. You will always be my best friend. Thank you sir for teaching me the value of friendship. You will be remembered as long as friendship survives is in this world!
Kalpana Mam - The pretty unmarried woman with chubby cheeks and dimple chin. With her short hair she tries to have a bun of it during working hours. She made lessons easy. And state board syllabus is much easy when compared to matriculation that time. She is more friendly and more active. She extends her arms whenever students are dull. She taught me to keep things safe cos I lost my purse in her class and got it back. My first girl friend is from her class. Aynesh. She is still the same, you believe it or not! You have a special place in my heart. Thank you mam for teaching me the value of warmth and the value of things. And, She is my 6th Standard class teacher.
Karpagam Mam - My social science teacher of 6th Standard. She is a very daring lady with good power in her voice. I remember having a problem with her in the answering papers and later got it solved. I remember crying standing in the entrance of my classroom! I did not get to spend so much time with her as she walks in only for 6 hours in a week to my class. Thank you mam for being an example of a woman with daring heart and a boomerang voice. I don't easily cry now.
Queen Mam - She is a queen for sure. Her lullaby voice, tirunelveli slang, big eyebrows and the style bun of her hair. She judges the whole class with questioning me and Aynesh. If we reply her, She thinks the whole class also have studied, If not, It's the other way round. We two were her pets. The way she calls me glady, I will be totally flat. She was pregnant that time and her long breath, little stomach, with everything she is an awesome woman. Mam, You are much into my heart and thank you for teaching me to be special to someone. I'm to so many now! Thank you mam from the bottom of my heart. She is 7th Standard Teacher
Thilaga Mam - The first day she entered the class, I started crying. She is tall, scary face, pimples here and there, different styles of blouses everyday and her intensity of pinches vary everyday. I remember she asking me why we don't include "an" before "one". Her birthday is on september 8th. And myself and Aynesh presented her a gift , a very small one! She is someone who taught me how to work with deadlines and how to be strict when we want things to be done on time! She is my 8th Standard teacher. Thank you mam I'm not scared of you anymore.
Badmavathy mam - My 7th & 8th Social science Teacher. The most funniest teacher I ever had. Her classes I long for. Her lessons I like much. Social science classes have never bored me even though I study about Akbar, Shahjahan and few more. I hid myself behind the tall girls when we sit in the floor. She is a pretty old lady with a big bag. And she sleeps most of the time. I remember scoring centum twice. Thank you mam for teaching me how to be funny at times to get attracted.
Rajeswari mam - My maths teacher for 7th & 8th Standard. She is a jolly jolly teacher and the love for maths was just poured unto me by her teaching. She keeps singing songs most of the times. "Sirithu vaale vendum, pirar sirika vaalndhidaadhey" These types of old songs she sings to keep us happy. Knowingly or unknowingly music has become my passion and Thank you mam for planting the seed in me.
Shanthi Mam – My tamil teacher
for 7th & 8th standard. She doesn’t talk much in
class. She comes takes class and leaves. She blinks her eyes a million times in a second. A very sincere lady whom I have never
seen chatting around. Thank you mam for the seed of sincerity.
Mary Mam - She is one of my best friend's mother. I used to call her aunty and was forced to call her mam during school hours. She is short, oiled hair bun and her major is History. Trust me, She knows how students will fall asleep during social sciences class when they hear about Akbar, Mourya and invasions. She skips everything. Before even starting the lesson, She will ask us to mark the answers for the questions given at the end of each lesson and then to continues to explain JUST the answer part. Mam, Thank you for not boring us. I learnt to be a short and sweet person. She is my 9th standard class teacher.
Bala Mam - My 9th and 10th Science teacher. I have never seen her smiling. The way she teaches science, you can never sleep. Not because it's interesting. But because she is strict and her voice tells it all. Lunch break, Tea break and every other breaks, She will be in class giving us work. Study hours is meant for her. No one can turn around. Her way of speaking tamil when she scolds, you just can't bare. She is fair and a committed lady. I scored high because of her in my board exam. She is much active from dawn till dusk. Mam, I'm much active most of the times because of your activeness! Thank you.
Geetha Mam - My 9th Maths teacher. Yellow turmeric powder manufacturers will be very happy if they get to see her. She is always yellow yellow in her face, tall and talks through her nose. I rarely understand her classes. But she is an expert in maths. Sometimes you can't cope up with genius. She is of that kind. Mam, I have always wanted to be an expert in at least one field ( Teaching ) and I'm definitely today because of you! A big thank you.
Jeya Mam - My 9th standard Tamil teacher. I learnt proper tamil pronounciation from her. She always looks at the ceiling and teach. Don't know why only! But She explains each and every cheiyil very interestingly. Now when I address people in a crowd, they find my Tamil very sharp and sizzling. It's all because of her. Thank you mam.
Muthupechi mam - My 10th standard class teacher. The class in which I did not have Aynesh with me. And it's all because of Mary mam who wanted me to be in Muthu mam's class. She is a very old, long thick hair, big glasses, drags her speech, eats snacks in classroom sometimes and her major is history. Everyday morning, as soon as she enters, before wishing, She ll ask us to recite the poem. I still remember, Two roads diverged by Robert Frost. She had focus in her class. She wanted everyone to score well. No partiality, nothing. Mam, Thank you for being an example of treating everyone equally. I'm trying it everyday. I got 90+ in board exam because of you.
Poongodi mam - I don't remember much about her. She has parrot voice, short, fair, pukka soda potty glass. No one listens to her. But she is sweet. She finishes portion. She is liberal. Sometimes you need to be liberal and I learnt it from you. Mam, Thank you.
Krishna Leela mam - She and her tamil classes. Chance less. She was my 11th Standard class teacher. She is bit fat, dragging tamil and keeech voice. She used to be so funny in her talks. She doesn't punish anyone. Thank you mam for being a wonderful human being and I'm taking steps for that everyday. Hope I will be someday.
MORE TO COME! Patience please!
